#011 PRINCE - I WOULD DIE 4 U (EXTENDED VERSION) (1984) A full and pulsating 10 minute version of, for my money, the best track on the Purple Rain soundtrack. I do also have a mindblowing 26 minute version (the 4ever mix) but the data limit here would mean I’d have to downgrade it to awful listening quality. In the movie, this is where my hairs stand on end. It’s rocky, funky, athletic, lean, just like the man himself. And you know what, he’s crazy enough to mean it. Tomorrow we move out a little further into the Minneapolis sound.
