#025 KENNY LOGGINS - IF IT’S NOT WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR (1982) Chiming in to We Are The World a few bars after Al Jarreau was another American 80s staple who falls into the “of-the-moment’ selection criteria for the Bandwagon Aid jumpin’ cheeseathon. When not jostling for position with the likes of Huey Lewis and John Oates on that special day, Kenny was churning out untouchable pieces of magic like this. From 1982’s High Adventure album this sees Kenny “rocking out”, but fans of Def Leppard need not lose any sleep. The album’s art design was unashamedly lifted from the recent success of Raiders of the Lost Ark, giving us a fairly decent idea what that film might have been like if first-choice Tom Selleck had been able to wriggle out of his Magnum contract. The album featured singles like the Michael McDonald-featuring Heart to Heart accompanied by a video with textbook examples of early MTV WTF imagery.
